New Zealand White rabbits, are immunized via intramuscular injection with your antigen. At day 49 of the protocol, a production bleed is taken and the animals placed on rest pending your testing results.
Each production bleed will average approximately 20-25 ml serum per animal and exsanguinations yield approximately 80-100 ml serum per animal. In either case, you can expect approximately 3 - 6 mg/ml serum antibody. The antibody can be purified via several common methods, but Protein G sepharose is the most common.
We will need 0.5 milligram of your antigen to complete the protocol. Immunoaffinity purification or protocol extensions may require additional antigen.
